Warren David Kozak

Managing Partner

Warren Kozak was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA. He attended Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina and received his law degree from Wake Forest University. Warren has practiced law in Portsmouth, Virginia for more than 25 years and he has become one of the areas leading criminal defense attorneys.

After many years as a partner with Marcus, Santoro & Kozak, P.C., Warren opened Kozak, Davis & Renninger, P.C. in 2008. Mr. Kozak is an active member in the community.

In his free time, he enjoys hunting, softball and golf. He is also an avid fisherman and enjoys spending time at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He lives with his family in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Richard Joseph Davis III

Partner

Mr. Davis was born and raised in Portsmouth. He served on the staff of U.S. Senator Charles S. Robb then attended Nova Southeastern University Law School. Upon completion, he returned home to practice law in Portsmouth. Prior to joining Kozak, Davis & Renninger, P.C. he worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Portsmouth.

In his free time, Mr. Davis enjoys spending time with his family.
Nicholas David Renninger

Partner

Nick Renninger and family have called the Tidewater area of Virginia home since 2002, after moving here from Vermont. Nick earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, where he graduated in the top third of his class. While attending Regent University, Nick was on the Dean's List and held leadership positions in Student Government and the Regent Journal of International Law, where he served as a Managing Editor. He was also the recipient of the Academic Merit Award and Dean's Scholarship.

Before entering private practice, Nick was an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Suffolk where he prosecuted white collar and general property crimes as well as domestic violence crimes. During law school, Nick clerked for the Honorable William R. Savage III of the Suffolk General District and Circuit Courts. He also interned for the Suffolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

Nick devotes his practice to representing clients in difficult family law related matters, as well as serious criminal matters in state and federal courts. Nick also serves as Guardian ad Litem for minor children in custody disputes.

In his spare time, Nick is active in his community, enjoys running, playing tennis and spending time with his wife and son.
Nicole A. Belote

Partner

Nicole was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area and currently lives in Suffolk with her family. Nicole earned her J.D. from Regent University School of Law in 2005 and her B.A. from George Mason University in 2000.

Before joining the firm., Nicole was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Suffolk for almost eight years. Prior to prosecuting in Suffolk, Nicole was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Portsmouth for one (1) year.

When not at the office or in court, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and on the softball field.

How long will my case take?

The length of a family law case depends on a number of factors. If the parties cannot come to an agreement and the case must be taken to court, your process will take longer. If children or high assets are involved, the process is also more likely to take longer. For example, while the length of a divorce typically takes one year, the process will take longer if the spouses cannot agree on the terms, or if children or high assets are involved.
Will I have to take my case to court?

Answer:

It is not uncommon for a family law case to need to be taken to court. When you work with our firm, we will try to help you reach an amicable resolution; however, this is not always possible. If you are unable to resolve your case peacefully, we are prepared to represent you in court, where we will ensure your rights are protected.
